It seems like every year the holidays come and go so quickly. I for one have so much to be thankful for this year. At the start of 2016, I told myself I’d write down a list of things I was thankful for every day. While I do forget to write in my journal some days, I’m proud that I’ve managed to get at least half the journal filled with gratitude. When I first started I’d have such a hard time writing down what I was grateful for, I was focusing on the big things like food and shelter and while I am grateful for that, I am also grateful for the little things in my day-to-day that make my life a whole lot better. It’s okay to be grateful for even the smallest things, my journal usually goes a little like this:

Grateful for:

  • My morning coffee
  • Cold, crisp weather
  • The sunrise
  • Walking to work on a sunny day
  • God
  • Family
  • Food
  • The smell of Autumn candles
  • A new book
  • Getting work done
  • My Bible
  • Having the ability to run and exercise every day

With that being said, I encourage you all to give it a try to write down what you’re grateful for either once a day, once a week or once a month. It’ll fill your life with happiness and make you realize how much you have to be thankful for whether you realize it or not. Often times we take things for granted and we don’t realize that even air conditioning is a luxury some don’t and can’t have.

Happy Thanksgiving to you all xoxo.
