RECIPES GALORE

For Christmas last month I asked for a ton of books including plant-based cookbooks. I felt a huge growth is my cooking skills last year and I just felt this immense excitement to learn more. I’ve become quite obsessed in fact with learning about nutrition and cooking techniques. This year in my efforts to reduce my eating out and spending habits I decided that I will be cooking a lot more at home. We only go out to eat Friday-Sunday for lunch/dinner but 3 days add up, so we’re going to tone it back a bit and start hosting more dinners at home. I will…

HOMEMADE ALMOND MILK

I’m all for anything homemade, i believe it’s a lot healthier and in this case might save you a couple of extra bucks. I caved in and decided it was time to try making my own nut milk at home. I’ve been wanting to do it for the longest time and decided to finally give it a try. So here’s what you’ll need. It might look complicated and a waste of time when you can just buy it at the store but the end result is so good. The best part is that you can buy almonds in bulk on Amazon for cheaper, while a…

VEGAN CACAO BROWNIES

Yes, you read it correctly, vegan cacao brownies. I’ve been experimenting lately with different recipes for healthy desserts. Not to mention easy, I’m not a big fan of long and hard recipes. I came across this great recipe from Gimme Some Oven and I ran to Whole Foods to get ingredients. The ingredients are gluten free, organic and vegan which is a lot healthier. It’s quite easy, took me about 15 minutes and 30 minutes overall to cook the brownies. I did mine with half cacao chips and the other half with unsweetened coconut flakes. I plop them in the freezer because I LOVE frozen brownies! They’re so…

SOUP IS GOOD FOR THE SOUL

I’ve always loved cooking, ever since I was young my mother let me play around and experiment with food at home. I was obsessed with the Food Network! As I got older my eating habits changed a bit and cooking became rather dull. I loved the idea of wanting to cook something new, but was lazy to buy ingredients and follow a recipe. However, now that I’m a bit older I’ve made it a priority to learn how to cook and I guess you can call me a chef, maybe, not really. Anyway, my boyfriend’s parents got us a dutch oven for Christmas and I…
