I’m not one to make Valentine’s day a big deal. However, this year I decided it was time to bring the romance and try something new for my boyfriend. Between moving to a new apartment and getting a new job, we haven’t made time to go on an actual date, so this was the perfect day to do something special. I didn’t go crazy because after all it’s only one day and since we both having full-time jobs we would only be spending 2-3 hours at night together, but it was a nice surprise and he was very appreciative of the effort. I made dinner… View Post
Ever since I was a little girl I loved buying new books, I’d stock up at the book fair and go home and spend all night reading. I always enjoyed drinking a cup of tea and sitting on my bed with a good book. Cutting to the chase, I’ve narrowed down a few of my favorite books at the moment, this changes often because every new book I read always becomes my favorite. I’m also a huge Goodreads fan, follow me so you can stay updated on the books I’m reading, want to read and finished reading! Comment and let me know your thoughts, I’m… View Post
Lately, I’ve become a bit more selective on what I put on my skin and how much. money I spend on products. Nothing sucks more than spending $100 on a product that you a)may never use and b)does nothing to your skin. I can finally say I have handful of good products. not all skin types are the same, but these work for my skin (no acne, but very dry skin). If you’re a runner like me Cocoa Butter vaseline is great for dry callused feet. Apply some on the outer edges of your feet and cover them with socks. In just 5 minutes you will see the difference to… View Post
I’ve always loved cooking, ever since I was young my mother let me play around and experiment with food at home. I was obsessed with the Food Network! As I got older my eating habits changed a bit and cooking became rather dull. I loved the idea of wanting to cook something new, but was lazy to buy ingredients and follow a recipe. However, now that I’m a bit older I’ve made it a priority to learn how to cook and I guess you can call me a chef, maybe, not really. Anyway, my boyfriend’s parents got us a dutch oven for Christmas and I… View Post
Okay, let’s just get it out of the way from the beginning. Eating healthy at work is extremely difficult. Whether you’re spending money on take out or eating office snacks, it’s hard to stay consistent on a healthy lifestyle if you’re not diligent on your meal prepping. Now if you’re like me the idea the of meal prepping sounds great, but unfortunately, I’d rather prepare my food the night before. I’ve written a few tips on how you can try to stay healthy at work. When taking lunch to work, try avoiding heavy carbs. Swap your pasta for some steamed broccoli or a salad.… View Post
Last week I gave up coffee for exactly five days. Let me tell you, it was not easy. I felt like a true addict. All the symptoms of a withdraw were there. I had terrible headaches, felt nauseous and I was sluggish and tired. However, after the 3rd-day things started to shape up. After the full five days, it felt so easy to simply say no to coffee. I don’t know about you but I love the smell and taste of coffee, so I began to incorporate decaf coffee from my favorite coffee shop, Dr. Smood, into my diet. Although decaf still has a bit of… View Post
Go out and do some fun outdoor stuff! Try something new this weekend: 1.Go for a bike ride (unless you’re like me, where getting on a bike is a workout itself) 2.Yogi it outside! 3.Read a new book, or discover a new coffee shop, or both 4. Take some time to bake/cook something new! 5.Hang with your significant other, go out to a nearby beach or a new town.
